RIck Warren and Barack Obama

It seems that it is a controversy for Rick Warren to pray at the innauguration. What do you think?

If you have someone pray for you, does that mean you agree with all their beliefs?

good think I read your blog, so I can keep up with these things, since I rarely watch or read the news!! :) Seriously, I can see the side of those that are offended. On the other hand IF this truly is a move on his part for all sides to work together, I applaud it. That has long been needed in our country. Of course, Warren does not offend me, so maybe it is easy for me to see the nice side of it.

I feel like this is a sign of the times personally. In some ways having Rick Warren give the opening payer is a way to get the Evangelical crowd to bless this presidency. Along with Rick Warren being involved in the inauguration there will also be a gay and lesbian (marching)? band to be involved as well.
It's all so warm and fuzzy and all inclusive!

I'm a little sick about the great need and desire of our culture to have everyone agreeing and on board with things that they might not have been due to moral and Biblical principals.

I've heard people on the Left and Right be hypocritical on this one. I've heard people on the Left who seem to think he's not responsible for the views of his pastor of 20 years, but have a problem a guy he's invited to say one prayer at the inauguration. I've heard people on the Right do the exact opposite, clearly falling victim to Obama Derangement Syndrome (I don't really see either as a big deal). Personally, I'd have a hard time coming up with a big-name religious figure who is less controversial than Rick Warren.

Whether we voted for him or not, he's going to be our President and he needs all the prayers he can get.
