Becoming the Beloved--Part 2--TAKE HEART

Our third prayer exercise was a practice of Lectio Divina. As I listened to our text, the word that God had for me there was "take heart." I was wondering what God was trying to teach me or say to me through this word. I kept writing sentences or phrases that were impressions. It is evolving into a poem. Here is the poem:

Take heart
The storm is not the end of the story
You are not abandoned

Take heart
Have courage
to believe in abundance and not scarcity
to believe that you will be blessed

Take heart
My expectations for you are different
different from your friends and family
different from the world

Take heart
dont just believe in the answers
believe I am the answer

Take heart
You are almost
where I want you to be
be renewed

Take heart
I know the plans I have
for you
to prosper you
and not to harm you
to give you a hope
and a future

Take heart
Be strong
and courageous
Dont be afraid
to enter into the
land
of milk and
honey

Take heart
You must be in
the world
but I have
overcome
the world

Take heart
take my body
broken for you
take my blood
shed for you
the new covenant
in my broken body
and in my shed blood
now given for you

Take heart
