Money Waters

is a guy I played college football with. His name when I knew him was Ian "Money" Johnson. Not sure I would call him a buddy. He was mad at me for writing him up for dormitory rules infractions our junior year, which led to a one game suspension from the football team (walking the halls on a dry campus with a bottle of malt liquor). But we seemed to get along well about the time of graduation from Sterling College. Now he is an independant rapper in Texas with an apparently bright future in rap. When "Money" was in college he was our star wide reciever.

What does he rap about? Interesting. I have to say, I love Clarence Gilyard Jr. though..and he's a Sterling grad too I believe. He was probably best known for Walker Texas Ranger..but I loved him first on MATLOCK! Super cute! ha

Anyone else we should know that is a Sterling grad?

Yeah...me.

He raps a lot about what rappers write about...a lot of partying and such. The stage name says something about what he is known for...kind of fusing a bluesy jazzy vibe into a dirty south hip hop style. He does a lot of story telling. There is a lot of language. He has a myspace page if you want to listen to radio play and he has a video on youtube.

My favorite song is probable "So I..(the other side of trickin')" which is what one of the videos is about. It has the bluesy feel...although the ... has an f bomb in the chorus.
