We spent our wedding night at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Normally that might be saying something since this is a common view on a clear summer day
However, since we got to the place late, did not get to sleep until after 4 ;), and had to check out at 11am, we did not see much.
I once again got a full-size vehicle which said "Dodge Charger or similar", just like our trip to Michigan last summer. In Michigan, I recieved a Chysler Pacifica, which is nothing more than a glorified station wagon. This time we got a Hyundai Sonata instead of a station wagon for our trip. At least it wasn't a station wagon (Jen called the Pacifica a "manwagon" to make me feel better)and we got good gas mileage. Someday I will be upgraded to a Ford Excursion, but not this time.
We drove the rest of the day to Santa Fe. The highlight of that trip for me was showing Jen through Walsenburg, CO, which is one of my favorite small towns in Colorado.
Any of you who have driven the road between say...Pueblo, CO and Las Vegas, NM will agree there is not much to take pictures of or talk about.
We got a great deal on a Super 8 in Santa Fe, and got a little rest for our trip the next day.
