We took a slow day in Las Cruces, going to a bookstore and then visiting La Mesilla. La Mesilla was the Mexican capital of the Arizona and New Mexico territories, before the USA laid final claim to the territory.
Here are some pictures from La Mesilla. The one with me in it is from the courthouse where Billy the Kid was convicted. I took the picture of me in the doorway to demonstrate how a lot of people must have been a lot smaller back 150 years ago. The doorway is shorter than I am!
