Steven Furtick is a pastor of a mega-church in Charlotte, North Carolina. His church, Elevation Church, has been named one of the fastest growing churches in the nation. In his book, Sun Stand Still, Furtick demonstrates the energy and passion that is drawing so many people to the church that he planted. He does this through encouraging believers, no matter their circumstance, to begin to live "audacious" lives of faith wherever they are at.

On cannot read Sun Stand Still and not feel the passion of Steven Furtick in every page. He takes us on a tour of Christian audacity that starts with believers in his hometown and church, leads us into African slums with a missionary doing amazing work for Christ, and everything in between.

The first few chapters of Sun Stand Still make the case for living with courage and audacity in one's Christian journey. Much of the rest of the book describe how overcome pitfalls, and to take action steps in living toward an audacious faith.

Central to the audacious faith that Furtick describes in Sun Stand Still are two essentials to living large in God's kingdom. The first element that Furtick believes in is passionate, audacious prayer. The second element Furtick challenges us as believers is God-sized dreams and God-sized vision for God's kingdom.

I enjoyed this book. It had a lot of energy. It was inspiring. I reminded me to trust in the power of prayer. Sun Stand Still would be a wonderful book for someone who needs a little encouragement and inspiration. It would also be a great book for those who might feel a little "stuck" in their spiritual journey. It is hard to read Sun Stand Still without feeling energized, and desperately wanting to live out one's faith in new and exciting ways.
