Taize is a village in France. It is an ecumenical community that borrows things from Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant traditions and was formed after world war 2, in part because the people who founded it believed that there were too many wars in Europe over religion.

It consists of Scripture, candles, silence, and singing (mostly a kind of contemplative praise song/chant thing).
