What Happy People Know--
As a person who struggles with mild depression, this is a very helpful, insightful book. It is also a helpful book just to undertand how to care for others that like to bring health and hope to people's lives.
God is Closer Than You Think--
A brilliant book about how to recognize the presence of God in your life.
Real Sex: The Naked Truth on Chastity--
I cannot stress enough how good this book is for single and married people, both in thinking about human sexuality from a Christian perspective, and as a book simply discussing a process of seeing ethical behavior as a spiritual discipline in and of itself instead of something seperate from prayer and spiritual disciplines. Also helpful in discussing the interplay between personal spirituality and discipleship in community.
Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places--
A brilliant book by Eugene Peterson. Challenging and somewhat slow reading, but well worth the effort.
